What The Role Is
Reporting to the Region Manager, the Wind Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations at the Langford Wind Site.
What You'll Be Doing Accountable for the safe and compliant operation of an CEG wind farm installation.
Responsible for monitoring, upkeep, and reporting of plant performance.
Create an annual operating plan and provide input on an annual budget.
Set direction and measure operational performance of staff and site contractors.
Primary contact for issue resolution in performance and land utilization issues.
Local point of contact for land owners, local authorities and state agencies regarding environmental and contractual issues involving wind farm installations.
Participate in contract negotiations with sub contractors and other vendors for parts and services required for wind power installations for site.
Possess the ability to climb and necessary skills to troubleshoot wind turbines at a high level.
Perform Operation and switching of high voltage equipment using approved switching orders.
Possess the necessary skills to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair substation and collection system malfunctions.
Coordinate efforts of the on site turbine technicians.
Assist in SCADA functions such as data editing, report creation, and local SCADA problem resolutions.
Monitor wind conditions, SCADA reports, turbine performance, maintenance schedules and staff performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Ability to write, implement and train direct reports on all CEG programs and procedures.
Responsible to communicate site issues with all support staff (IT, Engineering Human resources, etc.

) provide follow up as needed Be able to respond to plant outages on a 24/7 schedule.
Other duties as deemed necessary by Senior Management What You'll Bring Able to safely handle and work with objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Able to report to the work site without transportation assistance.
Ability to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet.
Job will require standing outside the nacelle and nosecone at the top of the turbine.
Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color coded wires.
Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments.
Able to travel as required.
Able to work safely in a confined space.
Able to meet requirements of CEG’s Qualified Electrical Worker program.
In depth knowledge of NERC standards and other utility regulatory requirements, power purchase contracts, operations management, financial reporting.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and maintain high value wind installations at or above projected performance levels and within budget.
Proficiency with operations financial management, forecasting and controls.
Demonstrated understanding of the technical and business facets of a wind installation.
High School diploma is required.
A 4-year degree in business, engineering, or related field is preferred.
7 years in the wind industry.
Possess and valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

What Would Be Nice Technical training in wind plant operations is preferred.
OSHA training is preferred.
