West Texas Fire & Industrial Supply, a 60+ year-old company, is looking for an *entry level full-time Service Technician*.

*POSITION SUMMARY:* Responsible for performing inspections, maintenance and servicing of fire extinguisher and safety equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes.
Candidate will be trained on codes, processes and techniques required for the job.
Inspections and servicing might occur in the shop as well as on location.
*Employment Requirements*
Due to entry and access to a wide variety of facilities; including but not limited to financial institutions, military installations, correctional facilities, healthcare facilities, family crisis facilities, childcare or educational facilities and other potential sensitive facilities; applicant must pass a background check.
*RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:*
* Perform inspections and servicing of fire extinguishers and safety equipment.
(Training provided)
* Travel in company vehicles to perform aforementioned duties on location across Texas.
* Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
* Read and interpret code documents, specifications, equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
* Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
* Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
* Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
* Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
* Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
* Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with heavier weight necessary at times.
* Must have a current and unrestricted Driver’s License, as this position requires daily travel to cutomer locations in company vehicles.
* Must pass drug test.
* Must pass background checks and have no restrictions on access to children, schools, financial institutions, government facilities and similar.
* Must pass background checks as required to obtain State of Texas issued license.
*SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:*
* Candidate should have a strong mechanical apptitude, with possible experience in maintenance or a mechanical trade or a strong plus.
* Requires a high school diploma/GED, or completion of a craft apprenticeship.
* Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
* Must be able to pursue licensure and pass the state test for Fire Extinguisher License.
* Must be committed to exceptional customer service.
