Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments to determine speech and language disorders and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Administer therapy sessions to improve communication skills, swallowing abilities, and overall speech function
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure effective treatment outcomes
- Educate patients and their families on speech therapy techniques and strategies for continued progress
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and billing information
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid state license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to speech and language disorders
- Experience working in an acute care or hospital setting, preferably with experience in critical care or pediatrics
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Proficient in using specialized equipment and technology for speech therapy interventions
