Experienced legal assistant.
Minimum two years in a legal setting preferred.
Skilled in electronic filing, billing software, WordPerfect, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, digital transcription, and other programs as necessary.
Must be a self-starter, willing to learn, and be able to work independently.
Testing will be done on selected applicants.
Pay will be based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
- Manage legal case files and maintain accurate records
- Conduct document review and analysis for legal proceedings
- Perform legal research using Westlaw or other legal databases
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as contracts, briefs, and pleadings
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings for attorneys
- Answer phone calls and handle inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in using document management systems and legal software
- Familiarity with Westlaw or other legal research tools
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
