Early Childhood Educator Job Descriptions
The following are required expectations for all teachers including but not limited to:
* Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational need
* Utilize developmentally appropriate practices and best practice methods at all times
* Be a positive role model for all staff and children
* Maintain classroom management and proper transitions (ex: reading or singing to children while co-teacher changes diapers)
* Be customer service orientated and professional
* Provide excellent customer service according to the standards of NBCA
Teacher Responsibilities and Duties:
* Be the primary caregiver for state regulated ratio of children according to their age.
* Assist children with activities of daily life (diapering, changing clothes, and handwashing)
* Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
* Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
* Approach parents daily and speak with them about their child(ren)
* Create and maintain an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children
* Keep all teacher accountable to their actions to ensure that everyone follows the program policy and expectations set by NBCA and Texas Minimum Standards.
* Train new teachers on what duties and schedules need to be carried out throughout the day
* Plan daily activities and lesson plans that are developmentally age appropriate.
* Use selected curriculum for your class appropriately and daily.
* Maintain daily sheets for parents throughout the day for all infants.
* Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization
* Keep a good attitude, ask questions if you are unsure
* All staff will be assigned a cleaning duty to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the center
* Know and understand where to go in emergency evacuations and drills
Physical Expectations of a Early Childhood Educator:
* Be able to bend, squat, and go to a child in need.
Voices should never be projected over going to a child.
* Have stamina to keep up with children and daily task.
* Be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
* Be physically healthy, to maintain consistency on a day to day basis.
* Be able to physically keep the classroom and other areas of the center clean and maintained for maximum safety and healthy environment.
Keep in mind that the above job descriptions is meant to be a guideline and does not list in detail all the job responsibilities of a Early Childhood Educator.
All other duties will be discussed in orientation and the practical part of training.

Please report directly to the center director with any questions or concerns you have regarding the children or center policies.
If the director is not available at the time, the assistant director will be in charge.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $11.
75 - $13.
25 per hour
