TITLE: Summer Youth Development Coordinator – TEENS
DEPARTMENT: Programs
REPORTS TO: CEO
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
A Youth Coordinator works with Teen members, grades 7-12, by coordinating program activities.
This position also supervises members, and evaluates activities and outcomes supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship.
This position works closely with Teen Director, following scheduled activity plans, occasionally leading assigned curriculum, and facilitating Teen focused activities.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
*Prepare Youth for Success*
Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
* promote and stimulate program participation
* provide guidance and role modeling to members.
*Program Development and Implementation*
Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for After School members and drop in Teen nights.
Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure Club and child safety, quality programs and good appearance of the branch at all times.
*Supervision*
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
*ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*
May participate in special programs and/or events.
Assisting in planning and facilitating Club Wide Teen events outside of regular after school hours.
*RELATIONSHIPS:*
*Internal:* Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
*External:* Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
* High school diploma or GED
* Experience in working with children/teens
* Knowledge of youth development
* Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
* Ability to deal with the general public
* Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
* Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
* Ability to run tournaments and foster productive game play
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:*
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to bend and squat as needed, and lift at least 25 lbs.

Pay: $10.
00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
