Job Overview: The goal of the Community Engagement Coordinator is to strategically inform a variety of community stakeholders about the work of the IRC and provide them concrete ways to provide support to refugees and to the IRC.
S/he will coordinate the development of the community co-sponsorship program, related outreach and development of community co-sponsors.
S/he will work closely with the Resettlement Director Major Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop framework, policies & procedures related to community co-sponsorship Complete a community partner mapping Outreach to communities in West Texas to raise awareness for community co-sponsorship, including through speaking engagements, community events and by participating in community initiatives Develop and implement training of co-sponsors Develop a fundraising plan, and organize fundraising events in collaboration with co-sponsors Evaluate & monitor programming Serve as administrative liaison to community co-sponsors Other activities related to community engagement and advocacy Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience related to community engagement, advocacy, public relations, and coalition-building, or five years of professional experience related to community engagement, advocacy, public relations, and coalition-building.
Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member.
Self- starter with excellent problem solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
Languages: English Certificates or Licenses: Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance.
Work Environment: A combination of standard office environment and travel within the service delivery area.
Some evening and weekend activity will be required.
